3:45am Hotel wake up call.
4:30am Bus arrives to take us to airport.
5am We get to the airport. There is a security check before you can even get to the check in counter. They essentially match up the flight roster with your passport. This security person can't find both our names... NEW DAY, SAME OLD SHIT!!!!
I look at her list and eventually locate my name. I can't locate Jessica's name.
She runs off but the United staff are too busy to help her. So, she allows us in and tells us she will come back to check on us.
Another security person comes up to us and takes away Jessica's passport. She comes back only to tell us that Jessica's name was not on the flight but UA has put her back on. It's really too early to deal with all this bs, especially already having to deal with it all day the day before.
The line moves extremely slowly. The premier check in line has only 2 staff serving it. It is almost 6am when we get service and the person again says that for some reason, Jessica was not listed on the flight. He runs off somewhere for about 1o mins and comes back to say that it is all taken care of. I will not believe that everything is taken care of till I am in SF. We get our tickets and proceed to our gate. We have very little time to get there and really do not wish to miss our flight. Like it matters at this point, right?
We get to the gate. This gate is slightly different from the rest of the gates. Gate B5 and B6 are a shared entrance to UA 896 (our flight to Hong Kong) and UA 804 (to Narita). We are supposed to be in B5 but not paying attention, we enter B6 and even after a United staff looks at our boarding pass, tells us to take a seat. We only realized we were in the wrong gate when a different set of customers were told "Hong Kong on the other side". There we go again... we had to rush out and move to the other gate... Well, that was basically the end of our adventure. We managed to get on the correct flight. We got an upgrade and we are now sitting in SF... 48 hrs later.
