Today would have been Shasta's 5th birthday (or so SFSPCA said).

Tuesday, June 3, 2008 (Singapore time)

I haven't posted for a few days. No real reason why.

We tried keeping ourselves occupied on Sunday.
We went to church really early by our standards because we had to meet Jessica's brother to look at the condition of the place we will be staying at come July. Our appointment with him was at 10:30am, so, we decided to go to church before that.

The place we will be staying at in July is currently rented out and will be vacated in the next week or so. It's a little dirty but definitely livable. However, we are going to get some cleaning and painting done before we move in. Unlike where we currently live, it is not in the nicest part of town, however, it will do for the time being.

After that, Jessica's friend's were coming by our place to pick up some handbags that Jessica had purchased for them during our trip back to the Bay Area. So, we headed back to Dover. Her friends brought lunch over and that took up most of Sunday afternoon.
We had decided to stay over at my parents' place while they are out of town because:
(1) They have more tv to watch then our own place.
(2) Dover feels extremely lonely and empty without Shasta around.

We ran some errands, visited Jessica's aunt because we were in that area and then spent the night at my parents' place.

Right by my parents' place, there are a lot of eating places. We decided to have breakfast at one of them before Jessica took the train to work.
The rest of the day was rather uneventful. I watched tv and sent out resumes. It is still lonely here at my parents, but it's an entirely different feeling from Dover. Jessica and I are probably going to spend a few nights here this week.
I picked Jessica up around 7pm to go collect the ashes from the animal hospital.
As mentioned earlier, the urn is UGLY. I will have a picture of it soon.
We had decided earlier to spend the night at my parents again and so we had to go back to Dover to pick up some of our stuff. Jessica and I felt that leaving the urn out in plain view of everyone might freak the cleaners out, so, we put the urn in a glass case in the living room but in a plastic bag. The cleaners should not see it unless they are nosy... and if they are, and get freaked out by it... that's their business.
The urn is unusually large, that's what I told Jessica. I have seen urns used for human ashes and they are usually not even this large. It is sealed. We are not going to open it just yet. But I don't think it is full.

Today, tuesday, is much like yesterday.
I still miss Shasta very much.
I can't really talk about him without tearing.
I know it's gonna take time.

I would like to thank everyone who had sent their wishes to us. Your support is very much appreciated.
