The problem with customer service...

I was sent this by email but never for a moment did I doubt the truth in this story. In my time as an employee, I had also personally encountered such stupidity. But, honestly, they are not the only institution that have this kind of customer service. At $6/hr, what more are we expecting? Quality? And with outsourcing, do we really expect even more?

Cancel your credit card before you die...........(hilarious!)

Now some people are really stupid!!!!
Be sure and cancel your credit cards before you die.

This is so priceless, and so, so easy to see happening, customer service being what it is today.

A lady died this past January, and Citibank billed her for February and March for their annual service charges on her credit card, and added late fees and interest on the monthly charge. The balance had been $0.00 when she died, but now somewhere around $60.00. A family member placed a call to Citibank.

Here is the exchange :

Family Member: 'I am calling to tell you she died back in January.'

Citibank : 'The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still apply.'

Family Member : 'Maybe, you should turn it over to collections.'

Citibank : 'Since it is two months past due, it already has been.'

Family Mem ber : So, what will they do when they find out she is dead?'

Citibank : 'Either report her account to frauds division or report her to the credit bureau, maybe both!'

Family Member : 'Do you think God will be mad at her?'

Citibank: 'Excuse me?'
< /B>
Family Member : 'Did you just get what I was telling you - the part about her being dead?'

Citibank : 'Sir, you'll have to speak to my supervisor.'

Supervisor gets on the phone :

Family Member : 'I'm calling to tell you, she died back in January with a $0 balance.'

Citibank : 'The account was never closed and late fees and charges still apply.'

Family Member : 'You mean you want to collect from her estate?'

Citibank : (Stammer) 'Are you her lawyer?'

Family Member : 'No, I'm her great nephew.' (Lawyer info was given)

Citibank: 'Could you fax us a certificate of death?'

Family Member : 'Sure.' (Fax number was given )

After they get the fax :

Citibank : 'Our system just isn't setup for death. I don't know what more I can do to help.'

Family Member : 'Well, if you figure it out, great! If not, you could just keep billing her. She won't care.'

Citibank: 'Well, the late fees and charges will still apply.'

(What is wrong with these people?!?)

Family Member : 'Would you like her new billing address?'

Citibank : 'That might help...'

Family Member : ' Odessa Memorial Cemetery , Highway 129, Plot Number 69.'

Citibank : 'Sir, that's a cemetery!'

Family Member : 'And what do you do with dead people on your planet???'

Priceless!!

Don't they have anything else better to do?

About a week ago, CNN had this report about PETA and the Pet Shop Boys.
In short, PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are suggesting that Pet Shop Boys change their name to something like "Rescue Shelter Boys".

First, I am neutral toward PETA. I am for what they are doing, but in essence, they are just another lobbying group that many a time barks up the wrong trees (as in this case). PETA should be going after the labs that do animal testing, illegal dog breeders, people that breed dogs (and other animals) for fighting and what have you.
WHY ARE THEY WASTING THEIR TIME ON A BAND NAME?

Pet Shop Boys have been around for more than 20 years. What sense would it make to them for changing their names at this point? There will be many legal maneuvers they would have to make to protect everything they have done for the last 20 plus years. It may not mean starting over, but it is going to be a few steps back from where they are right now. They don't sing about animals nor the treatment of animals. It is JUST A NAME.

Damn it, PETA, go out and do some real work.

Makings of a sad and happy day...

Kumar no more.

I really couldn't care less "Lawrence Kutner" kills himself on "House". I don't watch "House" on a regular basis, never have, probably never will. However, Kal Penn, the actor who plays "Lawrence Kutner" on "House" as well as KUMAR on the "Harold & Kumar" movies will be taking on a role in Obama's administration and will not longer be doing anymore "House" nor "Harold & Kumar" roles anymore, at least not till he leaves the Obama administration.

Aimless and pointless were the "Harold & Kumar" movies, but they were a good movie for a brainless day. After living in the US for many years, Harold & Kumar introduced me to White Castle. White Castle is a midwest joint not found anywhere I have previously resided. However, when I visited Chicago for the very first time, I made a point to eat at White Castle. Thanks to Harold & Kumar.

Anyway, I thought I would just write this for the hell of it... Goodbye Harold & Kumar. OR, alternatively, Harold may have to go find himself a different Indian sidekick... LOL!!

Boys Nite Out

Location: Ice Cold Beer @ Emerald Hill
Occasion: none. Just college buddies meetin up after... oh, maybe 10 years or more. I don't know. I don't think we have met up in this combination in a long time.
Had a great time. Hope the rest of them did too.

Kenny preparing for China... sitting like the Chinamen in executive meetings.

Jas, trying to make Kenny feel at home...

Just like the days back in Scandals... well, sorta, kinda. I think Pat would be holding his favorite Death Punch. Kenny would not be drunk 'cos he would be working the door.
