Today and tomorrow are the most nervous day for us. Gav is in flight right now from Narita to Singapore. If you don't already know, we are bringing Shasta to Singapore. Yes, our 104 lb, 4.5 yr old lab mix from SFO to Singapore. We (or rather me), can't bear to leave him with friends or give him up. There's no way we (or I am) are giving up my 104 lb black furball. Also, older, black dogs have the least chance of being adopted in the shelters. let alone a 104 lb black dog. I guess they are just not as attractive as other colored dogs.
So we take a risk of doing the international travel with him. The flight time is about 20 hrs with 2 hrs stopover in Narita and another 8 hrs in holding at Changi airport, Singapore. That means that Shasta will be in the crate for about 30 hours.
Gavin is transitting in Narita, Japan right now. Gavin is trying to find out the status of Shasta in the cabin compartment as the flight was extremely cold. The airline staff can only inform him that "Yes, Shasta is on the flight to Singapore." What does that mean? We don't know. We can only pray hard...really hard. Doubt starts to fill my mind, did we (I) make the right decision to bring Shasta back to Singapore?
